Ipswich Town Independent Supporters Club Constitution
NAME
1.1 The name of the association is: "IPSWICH TOWN INDEPENDENT SUPPORTERS CLUB" (ITISC)
OBJECTIVE
2.1 The Club shall be the voice of the Independent supporters of "Ipswich Town Football Club".
2.2 They are to offer an alternative supporters group from the Official Supporters Club, and ensure the views and concerns of their membership regarding Ipswich Town Football Club are brought to the attention to the appropriate authorities.
2.3 To liaise with Ipswich Town Football Club and assist with both Support and Donations.
MEMBERSHIP
3.1 Membership will be for life unless it is ceased in accordance with articles 5.1, 5.2, 5.3.
3.2 All Ipswich Town Football supporters of any age may apply for membership.
3.3 Application forms can be obtained from
(a) Any Committee Member
(b) Via the following Internet Web Site: In process of being set up
3.4 Each member will be issued with
(a) A membership card
(b) An association metal badge – in the future.
(c) A copy of the ITISC constitution, if requested
3.5 Any applicant that is unsuccessful with their application will be informed in writing giving the reasons why they have been refused membership. The applicant will have 14 days to appeal against their refusal, which will be heard by the Association Committee.
SUBSCRIPTION
4.1 The subscription is FREE
4.2 The committee will review the amount of Subscription Annually, informing the AGM of their decision.
CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP
5.1 The committee may terminate the membership of any person that it shall in its absolute discretion think fit.
5.2 Any member who has his membership terminate will be informed in writing the reason why their membership has been terminated. The member will have 14 days to appeal against the termination. The appeal will be heard in front of the elected Association Committee.
5.3 Any member who wishes to terminate his membership may do so by writing to the Chairmen.
COMMITTEE
6.1 To enable continuity the following posts of office will be elected every year:
(a) Chairman, (b) Secretary, (c) Treasurer d) Committee members
6.2 On completion of their term of office they may stand for re-election to the committee, and if successful stand for election in one of the above posts
6.3 Votes will be accepted by a show of hands, each member may only vote for one candidate.
6.4 Committee meetings will be held when deemed necessary by the Chairman or when requested by any other committee member.
6.5 Minutes of the committee meetings will be available to any member who requests a copy.
MEETINGS
7.1 The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association shall be held annually in either the months of August. All members will be informed of the venue when they receive their calling notice.
7.2 Any matters that members wish to discuss at the AGM are to be submitted to the Secretary in writing by a date that will be published on the calling notice.
7.3 The Secretary will be responsible for despatching the calling notice for the AGM at least 21 days prior to the said date. A copy of the statement of account and a proposed agenda are to accompany the calling notice.
7.4 Minutes of the AGM meeting will be available to any member who requests a copy.
7.5 An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) will be called if 25% of the members request one. The requests by all parties are to be sent to the Secretary who will convene an EGM at the earliest opportunity.
7.6 This constitution can only be amended outside of the AGM providing 75% of the membership support the amendment.
7.7 Any updates to the constitution will be discussed annually at the AGM, with any amendment being made by Majority vote.
7.8 Junior members are welcome to attend any AGM/EGM but will only be able to vote once they have reached the age of 16.
FINANCES
8.1 The Association is to have a single bank account that is controlled by the Treasurer
8.2 Three committee members, namely Treasurer, Secretary and Chairman are to be nominated as signatories and all funds drawn on the account are to bear at least two of the three signatures.
8.3 Any donations are to be discussed by the full committee.
8.4 The Treasurer is to balance the accounts monthly, informing all committee members of the balance of the account.
8.5 The yearly accounts are to be closed for presentation at AGM, at which time any member can request a copy of that years accounts for scrutiny. The balance sheet is also to be forward to all members with the calling notice for the AGM.
